Fresh out of school and just 18 years old, Jamie began his advertising career in the mailroom of a North Sydney advertising agency. After studying at night to gain his Advanced Advertising Diploma, at 23 Jamie became the youngest ever Senior Account Manager in the history of McCann-Erickson London. At 27 he again studied at night and graduated amongst the top of the prestigious AWARD School for creatives and became the oldest ‘junior’ copywriter in McCann-Erickson Sydney’s history.

Over the next 9 years Jamie went on to win over 50 local and International creative awards, work at renowned NY creative agency - Fallon, guest lecture at the Miami Ad School and New York School of Visual Arts and work across major global brands in his role as a Senior Creative Vice President with FCB New York.

Having spent 18 years building brands and working in almost every agency department, from client service, media and production, to creative, strategy and management, in 2003 Jamie put his experience to the ultimate test and founded Workshop Australia, a strategic and creative branding agency he started in an old factory in Surry Hills.

Listed as one of BRW’s Hot 75 Start-ups in just 3 years, Workshop turned down early merger and acquisition offers to maintain its independence and allow Jamie and the team to do the type of work they wanted to do, for the type of people they enjoyed doing it for most. Now in its 19th year, Workshop partners some of the biggest (and smallest brands) around the world from its offices on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

As a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and passionate about making a difference, Jamie does pro-bono branding work for Newkind Conference and youth mental health charity One Eighty where he also sits on the Advisory Panel providing counsel to the business and board. He is also a founding member and director of marketing for a philanthropic Agri Fintech start-up established to improve the lives of rural farming communities in The Philippines. And in his spare time, Jamie and his wife manage The Little Black Shack – a small socially conscious eco tourism brand they created in Pittwater, Sydney.

Jamie, his wife Ingrid, their 3 children (Indiana, Jye and Fin) and dog Luna, live on Sydney’s Northern Beaches in between escapes to their tiny off-grid shack on a private headland above a remote beach on the far South Eastern tip of Tasmania.
